Privacy Policy

Updated Feb 4, 2026

We built Suncastic to help you estimate solar output. To do that, the app needs a small amount of information (like where your PV system is and how it’s configured). This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what choices you have.

In short

We store your account and plant settings so the app works across sessions and devices. To show forecasts, we send coordinates to weather and geocoding providers. Analytics is optional and only runs if you accept it. We never ask for (or store) your Google password.

Who we are

Suncastic is operated by Beyond Slovakia, s.r.o. (EU). If you have any privacy questions, email support@suncastic.com.

What data we collect

Account basics. If you sign in with Google, we receive your display name, email address, and a unique user identifier. (We don’t get access to your Google password.)

Plant + Location. If you add a plant, we store its coordinates, the label you choose (for example “Home”), and your PV configuration (system size, panel orientation/tilt, inverter details, and calibration).

Optional usage analytics. If you consent, Google Analytics collects anonymized information like page views and feature interactions, plus basic device/browser info.

How we use it

To provide forecasts. We use your coordinates to fetch weather and irradiance data, then estimate PV output for that location.

To remember your setup. We store your plants and preferences so you don’t have to set everything up again every time you visit.

To improve the app. If you consent to analytics, we use that information to learn what’s working and what needs improvement.

Third-party services

Suncastic relies on a few providers to work. We use Firebase (Google) for sign-in and storage (account basics, plant settings, and preferences). Firebase processes data under their privacy policy.

To fetch forecasts and solar/irradiance inputs, we send coordinates to Open-Meteo. For address search and reverse geocoding, we use Nominatim (OpenStreetMap).

If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data.

Cookies and local storage

We use local storage to keep the app fast and remember your choices (like your cookie/analytics preference). We also cache some API responses for performance, and store a small amount of UI state so we don’t repeat prompts unnecessarily.

We don’t use tracking cookies by default. Google Analytics cookies are only set if you accept analytics.

Analytics & privacy

Analytics helps us understand what’s useful and what’s confusing. It’s optional. You can change your choice anytime via the consent banner or here:

Analytics preference: Checking your preference….

Your rights (GDPR)

If you’re in the EU, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it (which may require deleting your account), or request an export in a portable format.

To request any of the above, email support@suncastic.com.

Data retention

We keep your account and plant data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove that data from our systems.

If you consent to analytics, retention is controlled by Google Analytics settings (commonly around 14 months for user-level data). Anything stored locally in your browser can be cleared anytime via browser settings.

Data security

We use HTTPS/TLS to encrypt data in transit. Data stored in Firestore is protected with access controls designed to limit access to your own data. We don’t store Google passwords or payment details.

Children's privacy

Suncastic isn’t intended for children under 16. If you believe a child shared personal data with us, please email support@suncastic.com.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. We recommend checking back occasionally.
